Jerry of the eponymous It’s Jerry Time! reminds me more than a little bit of Joyce’s Leopold Bloom. They both possess the same attention to detail, social awkwardness, and obsession with money. Both endure perceived slights mostly in silence.
Jerry of the eponymous It’s Jerry Time! reminds me more than a little bit of Joyce’s Leopold Bloom. They both possess the same attention to detail, social awkwardness, and obsession with money. Both endure perceived slights mostly in silence. In Episode 1: Who’s That Guy, Jerry even confesses feeling “alienated” by the bar management.

Of course, the disclaimer at the bottom says that Jerry’s adventures are based on real events, albeit exaggerated for storytelling purposes. I wouldn’t want the author’s life as my own, but I’ll listen to him talk about it anytime.

It’s Jerry Time! is definitely worth checking out. The reality-askew mashup style at first creeped me out when I first stumbled across the page, but the charm of the videos win you over quickly. My favorites are Episode 1 and Episode 5: The Repairman.

The next episode touches down June 5th. Keep an eye out.

The three minute video poses a question that lingers long after you’ve finished watching the short. It also appears in the first issue of the new Wholphin DVD.

I admire the confidence of the second test taker.
